My Project Life kit from 2011 is finished! Well, almost. Like, 99.9% done. If I wanted to stop now and not mess with it any more, it would be perfectly okay.
I have to say that I love, love, love how it turned out. Sometimes I would get a little bit down reading all of the amazing blog posts from Becky's blog and links where people would do amazing customizations. Stamps, stickers, extra paper, and even sewing new pocket protectors were popping up all over the place, and sometimes I felt like mine was too simple. But the more I looked at it, the more I was really happy with it. I like simple and clean. I also like easy. Sometimes the pictures are sideways or even missing, and I am 100% okay with that. This is the first year of my life where I actually felt somewhat caught up on my scrapbooking. My kids love to look through the album and have me read it to them. I am amazed every time I look at it how much my family has changed. We had 3 new babies enter our family this year, along with many more all around us. My kids learned new skills and I tried new recipes. Some things didn't change, and it was actually nice to document that as well. Most of all I feel like I grew with this project. My photography and editing got better and I became a bit more bold with the products. I let myself off the hook for not having a "picture a day" and instead focused on documenting those precious times. It might sound corny, but I really think Project Life helped me grow as a person. Thank you, Becky Higgins, for "making my dreams come true." Because of you, 2011 will be a year that myself and my children will never forget.
Oh, I think it looks awesome. Congrats on making it a year. I did it last year online but I have yet to buy the kit. Really awesome.
ReplyDeleteYour book is beautiful! I love it!! Seriously, mine looks so similar to yours! Be proud of it! You look like you had one amazing year and really, can you think of a better way to document it?!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!! I just read your email to Becky Higgins & I absolutely LOVE your book. I too am getting overwhelmed with the amazing things some have done with PL and have yet to purchase it because of this fact. But, you instilled confidence in me that if I get it and use just the things in the kit, along with my terribly imperfect photos, I will have a wonderful book of memories. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteSaw your post on Becky's blog. I love the dolled up versions, but boy, oh boy, I sure love the simple. They are equally beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWere the fun number dividers in the turquoise kit?? Those are especially cool!!
i love the way your album turned out. It looks like we both had the same idea with the scrapbook paper that came with the kit!! I love project and my 21 month already loves it as well!!
ReplyDeleteWow girl, you rock. I have just seen your video on Becky's Blog and just wanted to say a big thankyou. I have been scrapping for over 10 years and sometimes its nice to be reminded that simple is sometimes often the best. It was a good reminder that its all about the stories and photo's of our lives. Although I will be a little more creative on mine it was a great reminder that PL suits all types of memory keepers. Again thanks for sharing and have a Wonderful 2012.
ReplyDeleteLove me :-)
I love your album and your post. I began my very first Project Life album this week, the turquoise edition. I was going along grat until I tried to get a bit fancier. Thanks for reminding me why I am doing this.
ReplyDeleteHi Emily I too have just watched your video over at Becky's blog and I just wanted to say thanks I enjoyed it so much and was a little intimidated to start but now I'm not, so a big thank you.
ReplyDeleteI saw your blog on Becky's blog. I just wanted to say I am so glad to find someone who is taking the simple approach. I used to scrapbook but it just got too overwhelming for me with all of the supplies and everything. I got Becky's kit for Christmas and my plan is to use only that plus a date stamp. This will be my first year for Project life and having 3 boys under 5 means I need simple if I am ever going to get it done. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteHi- I also saw your video on Becky's blog. I would love to know the name of the song and artist that you used on the first part of your video.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Sherri

ReplyDeleteI'm starting Project Life for the first time this year (after hearing about it when no products were available).
